Santa Claus, as a baby, is found in the Forest of Burzee by Ak, the Master Woodsman of the World (a supreme immortal), and placed in the care of the lioness Shiegra but thereupon adopted by the Wood Nymph, Necile. Frank Baum and illustrated by Mary Cowles Clark. I don't know if any illustrations are missing other than the one between pages 10 and 11.Please feel free to email with any questions. The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is a 1902 children's book, written by L. I counted 4 color image pages, and 8 not full color illustrations. The main issues are with the illustrations : a few are still bound into the book, but almost all are loose, some with tears. There is a tear and pencil name on the inside endcover, pencil name on first two blank pages, hole and tape mark on page adjacent to title page, name on page 3, torn and missing image between page 10 and page 11. Frank Baum (The Wizard of Oz), beautifully illustrated by Mary Cowles Clark (1871-1950).Condition: The book is in FAIR to POOR condition. Bound in the original pictorial red cloth (with Santa in a green coat sitting atop a chimney) with lettering in white and black to upper cover, and black Santa Claus outlined in white to spine.A rare First Edition of The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus by L. Illustrated by Mary Cowles Clark with a colored title page. This is the First State with section headings Book First, Book Second and Book Third.
